We started as a SaaS product, but pivoted when we saw the real problem. Businesses were drowning in point-to-point solutions—disconnected tools, accumulated over years that created chaos instead of clarity. We saw the bad practices of stitching together dozens of "point-to-point" tools adopted everywhere (a CRM here, an accounting app there, and a marketing campaign tool over here).
The cost reaches far beyond the thickening bill. Security vulnerabilities, operational inefficiencies, lost sales, and teams unable to scale when it mattered most. We knew hub-based alternatives (such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho) worked, but their exponential pricing made them inaccessible to the businesses that needed them most.
Coming from (dev)ops efficiency & digital transformation backgrounds, we knew there was a better way. We identified Odoo as the superior, unified alternative, yet recognized that traditional implementation is slow, expensive, and complex. So, we built a better way. With FirstMate, we moved from a standalone SaaS product to a tech-enabled consultancy to solve exactly that.
